Making more time for yourself

One of the best New Year’s resolutions that you can possibly have made is to make more time for yourself. We’re always busy in modern society. We work, we look after our families and juggle childcare. We go to the gym and try to take care of our bodies. About one in three of us also runs a side hustle or a home business. We work hard, we give what we can to others, and even when we are meant to be resting, we’re stressing ourselves out looking through social media posts and worrying about what we’ve seen in the news.

But, making time for yourself isn’t always as easy as it sounds, especially if you are out of practice. Let’s take a look at some of the easiest ways that you can make time for yourself in 2020.

Get a Cleaner

Have you ever heard the phrase “you pay with your time, or you pay with your money”? It’s never more accurate than when it comes to cleaning your house. If you are someone that loves cleaning, by all means carry on. But, if you spend the week dreading housework day, and hating having to do chores, why not stop? You might pay a cleaner $25 to come in and clean once a week, freeing up hours to spend on more important things. How much would you be willing to pay for an afternoon of rest and relaxation? Doesn’t a cleaner suddenly seem worth it?

Do More Online Shopping

At least for the things that you don’t enjoy shopping for. If you love shoe shopping, keep doing it. But, when it comes to food shopping and other mundane tasks, you might have far better ways to spend your time. You could even buy contact lenses online if you’d rather.

Schedule You Time

Do you have massive to-do lists? Do they seem to get bigger as you are continually finishing one job and adding three more? If you are a slave to your to-do list, and you never have any free time, why not add it to your list? Add a bubble bath to the end of your day, or even schedule a free day in your diary for some time in the future. We’re usually more likely to do something if it is written down.

Monitor Your Screen Time

You might think that you are chilling out when you are viewing social media or browsing the net. But, chances are you are actually getting stressed out and making yourself angry. Try a complete digital detox, or at least start putting your phone in another room in the evenings.

Manage Your Inbox

How much time do you spend each week deleting junk emails and scrolling through a packed inbox to find the important things? Start unsubscribing from some of the junk, and you’ll free up a little time each day.

Learn to Delegate

If you run your own business, learning to delegate can be a great way to free up some time, as well as reducing your stress levels. Even at home, delegating household chores and other tasks can give you a little extra time for yourself.
