How to Reshape Your Brain

Did you know that you have the power to reshape your brain? Through practices like yoga, mindfulness, and somatic healing, we can repave old neuropathways and create new ones, thanks to the incredible concept of neuroplasticity.

The Science Behind It:

Neuropathways are the connections formed by repeated thoughts, emotions, and actions. When we engage in habits that promote positivity and mindfulness, we encourage the formation of new pathways, effectively rewiring our brains for better mental health and well-being.

Why This Matters:

Replacing old, unhelpful pathways with new, healthier ones can reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance our emotional resilience. It’s like giving your brain a fresh start!

The Process:

Consistent practice is key. Each time we choose a mindful moment over a stressful one, we strengthen the new pathway, making it easier to access peace and clarity in everyday life.

This is how you can repave neural pathways within your brain and completely change the way you think. If you don’t know me, hello, my name is Courtney Hanson, and I am a licensed trauma somatic therapist. We’re going to talk all about neural pathways and how you can rebuild your brain.

What is a neural pathway? You ask? Well, a neural pathway is essentially a road in your brain, and it’s controlled by your thoughts, your patterns, and your actions. And the more that you use that particular neural pathway, the stronger it becomes. Why would I want to change my brain? Because the more that you use things like your stress and adaptable behavior that was survival for you, it’s no longer serving you. So it’s time to have a new way of thinking.

When you think a thought, you create neuropathways. The thought is going you have two pathways. So let’s say that you’re used to saying, “I am horrible. I suck.” Well, that thought comes in your brain, and it drops down to one neural pathway. Every time that it goes to this neural pathway, it gets larger and stronger, and the other neural pathway is still just a thin line.

So when we start retelling things to ourselves, we start to grow and reshape how that neuroplasticity is formed within our brain. You’re a walking miracle. I want you to remember this. Embrace this journey of transformation and watch how it changes your life from the inside out!
