Real Mom Talk from a Mompreneur

In the sacred dance of life, where our personal and professional worlds intertwine, we are often called to navigate turbulent waters. The vision for The Sweetest Little Life was born from a deep desire to create a sanctuary where family and career harmoniously blend, where authenticity is celebrated, and where the messy and magical aspects of our existence are embraced.

The Yamas and Niyamas, the ethical and personal observances of yoga, have been my guiding light through this journey. They remind me to cultivate non-violence (Ahimsa), truthfulness (Satya), and contentment (Santosha) as I navigate the challenges that arise. These principles have been the pillars of my practice, anchoring me as I strive to create a space of healing and transformation.

However, the path has not always been easy. As a recovering people pleaser, I have faced criticism and judgment, labeled as running a cult or failing as a mother. These words have been heavy, but they do not define me. They are reflections of the unhealed aspects of those who utter them, not a reflection of the love and integrity that infuse my work.

Through the Lions Gate portal energy, I am reclaiming my power. I stand firm in my truth, knowing that the vision I hold is revolutionary and requires courage to manifest. There will be hiccups, but they are merely stepping stones toward growth and understanding.

In this journey, I draw strength from the wisdom of the Yamas and Niyamas, allowing them to guide me through struggles in mind, body, and spirit. I embrace the challenges as opportunities to deepen my practice and to embody the principles I teach.

To anyone navigating similar storms, I offer this: Hold fast to your vision. Trust in your integrity and let the principles of yoga guide you. Together, we are creating a village where love, healing, and authenticity reign supreme.

May we all find the courage to bring our full selves to the table, knowing that our messy and magical ways are what make us truly beautiful.

Listen, I don’t know who needs to hear this, but people say run a family business. It will be fun. I don’t want to tell you all the things that were not told to me about running a family business. My husband is a firefighter and his schedule is very wonky. He doesn’t work a lot – but when he does work, there’s always a chance he could get mando. There’s always a chance he could have to leave randomly.

There’s always a trade that could happen that throws my schedule off. No, we don’t have family. We don’t have grandma and grandpa or babysitters. It’s me, my husband, and my children. We hold it down. Now I have staff. I’m very grateful for my staff, however, if my husband gets mando’d or something happens wonky or my kids decide that they’re going to act out that day when I’m running a holistic healing center (which is supposed to be peaceful), I have to pivot my entire day to accommodate, right? So my whole business is a fluctuation on my family’s well-being – and if one little piece of the puzzle is off, London Bridge comes falling down, quite literally.

Now, I don’t have kids that want to sit and read in the corner. I have feral children. I have children that want to be outside getting muddy, running through sprinklers, playing, and getting down and dirty. I love that about them. Would not change that for the world – but as a family business, it makes it very difficult because you have to parent publicly so the tantrums are public. Your parenting is public. You are out for display to be judged on your family life and how you choose to raise your children. Now, I never thought that this would be a problem until I realized how judgy the freaking world is. Everyone always has something to say. There’s always some ball I’m dropping, someone I’m letting down.

Now, the conundrum of this is my biggest fear in life is letting people down. It is my biggest thing that I need to work on is people pleasing and not wanting to disappoint anyone. And so I’m going to take you along on a personal series that I am doing to create structure and balance in my life, which is pretty bohemian and free flow. I’ve come to realize that this is just not serving me anymore. And with this Lionsgate portal energy and this manifestation energy, I want to f*#%ing skyrocket. I am ready to take it up five notches and I want to take you with me.

So everything that I’m doing personally, I’m going to share with you over the next six weeks. I’m going to share some manifestation rituals for you and get started today! Want to learn more about manifestation? Check out this manifestation spell!
