Manageable ways to minimize daily pain

If you’re someone living with a newly diagnosed chronic issue, there’s a strong chance you’ve been tackling daily bouts of pain for a while. No matter what kind of issue you’re currently having to adjust to living with, it can hold you back from time to time and make your bad days feel endless. And that’s something we want to try and tackle. Chronic pain is the most troublesome symptom of living life with a long term illness, but there are some manageable ways to reduce what you feel and allow your body to relax.

Learn How to Massage

Depending on where you feel the pain, you can learn to massage yourself properly to help ease off the ache. If you’re feeling twinges in your neck or your upper shoulders, you can reach over and apply intermittent pressure to the spots with your fingers for a couple minutes at a time. Or if you’re feeling pain in your lower back, you can use something like a massage pad or ball to target the area as you’re sitting up, meaning you barely even have to move to address the issue. 

Add CBD to Your Food

CBD is great for minimizing pain, and it’s entirely legal for use. So the next time you’re shopping around for pain medication, look into items like CBD Honey Sticks which you can add to your meals for long term pain relief. CBD only takes around 15 minutes to kick in, which is a little faster than pills or other over-the-counter meds, and it’s great for all over body relaxation. 

Apply Plenty of Heat

Heat pads go a long way to helping blood flow more easily into your muscles, which then reduces the aches in those areas. It’s why hot baths and showers are so good for pain, but if you’ve not got the energy to get into one, a heat pad is the next best answer. Buy a few to use in cycles, pop them in the microwave for a minute at a time, and then sit with them for the next half hour or so applied to the area where you feel pain. 

Try to Exercise

Chronic pain makes it incredibly hard to exercise. But if you’re able to move bit by bit, you can reduce the amount of pain you feel per day. Simply getting up and walking around a room, if you’re unable to leave the house, is a great way to allow your muscles to flex and not get stuck in position. It’s going to hurt, of course, but it’s a good way to relieve the pain you might feel tomorrow, or even simply later on in the evening. Build up and do more and more every day, but always listen to your body and sit/lie back down if you need to.
