Episode 28 – Trauma with Talesha Kim

In today’s episode we are talking all things healing. Expert Talesha Kim is sharing her story with us on how she rose up and created a custom healing modality to help her clients heal from past wounds.

We discuss how covid is a period of grief as so many of us have lost our jobs, had to ebb & flow, lived paycheck to paycheck, experienced fear, loss & pain. How do we turn this pain into purpose though? In this episode we cover some in depth advice to truly transform from a state of grief to a state of pure bliss. Also how to identify if our past loved ones are still with us and what signs to look for.

A little peak into trauma- Let’s first start off and just state this does not have to mean you saw someone die, or experienced a horrific car accident.

Trauma can be something your parents said to you as a child or repeated events you witnessed growing up. It can be little to someone and huge to someone else. Trauma’s definition is defined as a: an injury (such as a wound) to living tissue caused by an extrinsic agent b: a disordered psychic or behavioral state resulting from severe mental or emotional stress or physical injury c: an emotional upset.

Any traumatic memory is automatically stored in your implicit, unconsious memory. There is a protein called glutamate that sears synapsees together in any unique or trauma situation. This is how fear is conditioned into our hardwire. Glutamate bonds are very difficult to dissolve and break through but the beautiful thing is that WE CAN. Our subconscious holds on to these things because our conscious can’t handle it.

How to know if you have trauma? It can be broken down into a few major red lights…

  1. Dissociation
  2. Suffering from feelings of detachment, or feeling “dead inside”
  3. Flashbacks and nightmares
  4. Suffering from chronic or ongoing depression
  5. Denial
  6. Anxiety or panic attacks
  7. A feeling of “I’m worthless.”
  8. Shame and guilt
  9. Not being able to handle conflict in a healthy way
  10. Depression
  11. Substance abuse
  12. Hypervigilance
  13. Sleeping issues including trouble going to sleep or staying asleep
  14. Suffering from chronic or ongoing depression

Healing can truly be broken down into three steps in which this episode covers.
