3 Simple (But Important) Habits For Improving Your Self-Confidence
A lack of self-confidence is something we will all face at some point in our lives. It can saturate all spaces of our lives and generate fear of failure. So, how can we overcome that fear?
We can do it by working on boosting our self-confidence and self-esteem. This will help to finally release our fears and truly chase our dreams. It doesn’t mean that we’ll never have those fears again, they’ll always be there. But with all the right tools and motivation, we can break down those walls and come out the other side.
Below are 3 ways to help you create habits that’ll become the building blocks for improving your confidence. They aren’t revolutionary, nor is this comprehensive list by any stretch of the imagination. But it’s a start, that’s what’s important.

Be Kind To Yourself
Simple, right? We all know that it’s actually much harder than it sounds. We’re overloaded with images and representations of what we should be striving for; the perfect look, the ideal personality. It all comes together to make us hypercritical of ourselves.
Take the time to be kinder to yourself. Start a gratitude journal and put to writing what you like about yourself and what you’re thankful for. Let negative feelings go and substitute them with positivity. Meditation apps, like Headspace, are brilliant for helping to build positive habits and opinions of ourselves.

Feel Good About Your Appearance
This might sound a little frivolous, but how we present ourselves to the world has a massive impact on our self-confidence and self-esteem. It’s all about embracing who you really are on the outside and translating that into our appearance. This is definitely different for everyone. For some people it’s down to working on loving themselves as they are, others it’ll be wearing the clothes they really want to. Maybe it’s just taking an extra 10 minutes a day to take care of yourself.
For others, it’ll be about their physical appearance. This doesn’t make us selfish or self-involved. Maybe you’re self-conscious about your teeth and avoid smiling. This definitely impacts your confidence! You could visit a dental clinic like FY smile to improve your smile because it’s not just about the way it looks. It’s the way it makes you feel.

Get Movin’
Physical activity has a massive potential to improve our confidence and self-esteem. Even just a short 10-minute burst of activity increases our energy and positive mood. Regular movement increases our self-esteem and even reduces anxiety and stress! What’s not to love!
Find a workout app that lets you tailor your exercise routine. Don’t push yourself further than you can handle, it’s not about forcing our body to its limits. You just want to get moving to release those endorphins in a way that’s best suited to you.
Some of you will be thinking, ‘I work full-time, fitting exercise in is impossible!’. There are lots’ of ways you can get more active, even if you work full-time. Anything is possible when you put your mind to it.
