How to make your home look and feel unique.

Everyone wants their home to reflect their lifestyle. That being said, it’s super easy to conform to rules and any interior design trends. If you want to spice things up a bit, then here’s how you could make your decorations a little less ordinary and a bit more unique.

Display Things that Mean Something to You

The best and the easiest way for you to make your space seem unique and original would be for you to personalise it to your own experiences. This includes having your favourite pictures, a stamp collection or even your high-school sports jersey. It doesn’t matter what it is because at the end of the day it will help you to make your space feel more like yours. If you can keep these items well organised and if you can put them into frames, then this will help you to give it a much more polished look overall. If you have collections or various other novelty items, then make sure that you dedicate a shelf or two for them. If you have a hung collection, then why not buy some hooks for your walls? Little things like this can help you to get your home looking really good. You can also frame flags of countries or states that you have visited. Check out this Chicago blanket for ideas.

Hang some Art Below your Windows

It’s true that having  a lot of windows is ideal if you want a bright home. That being said, if you have a lot of windows then you may find that they just take up too much wall space. A general rule for hanging photos or art would be for you to keep them at eye level. This is a very good way for you to bring out the personality of your home and you may even find that you are able to add colour too. If you want to break the rules a little, then why not try and hang multiple pictures below your windows? When you do this, you will soon find that you can stop your space from being overwhelmed and that you can also bring everything together nicely.

Change your Hardware

You may not think that there is anything wrong with your hardware, and this may be the case, but you still have to make sure that you put in the work to ensure that you replace them anyway. You may find that you can get very unique hardware or expensive-looking features by simply looking around. If you just don’t feel like spending much money at all, then you have nothing to worry about because it’s more than possible for you to upcycle your hardware. Simply paint over it and make sure that you sand it down as well. Little things like this can help you to ensure that you are getting the best result out of your home upgrade.

Make your Ceiling Seem Higher

Believe it or not, your ceiling has a huge amount of potential. That being said, people don’t often think about it when they design their room. Your ceiling is a blank wall at the end of the day, and if you want to make yours cohesive, then it helps to add a wooden antler light or even a glass chandelier, depending on what option you’d like to go for. You can also paint it a colour that is not white, or invest in a stencil.
